Racing .....
In the UK we have a winter race series, I didn't compete in round one as my ski wasn't back from Havasu but I thought I would have a bit of fun and compete at round two. It was a really cold weekend but I had a good time and the race was held at my local lake Stanton Lakes in Leicester, it is a nice lake with a wonderful restaurant on site which was lovely after being on the freezing water all day - well worth a visit. UIM 3RD & Final Round, Jet ski Village, Paris Sept 11 - 13th
This weekend we headed to Paris to a lovely venue for the final round of the UIM racing. Unfortunately for me there wasn't really a ladies title to fight for because round 1 in Spain was Ladies Superstock but then round 2 in Portugal the ladies class was changed to Stock for some reason and now round 3 in Paris is back to ladies Superstock so its all a bit mixed up really which is a real shame and also Stefi & Julie haven't ridden in all the ladies classes but the weekend was good race practice for me.
I have had a lovely year and its been really nice to ride with a great bunch of girls who are all friendly and respectful both on and off the track.
I have really enjoyed it girls - thank you and good luck in Havasu and China.

Well my Bad Luck gremlins followed me all the way to Paris and after a flying start and leading Moto 1 I broke so it was time to go back to my old faithful limited boat and she did me proud giving me the holeshot and leading the race from start to finish in moto 2. Moto 3 was a different story again - I called two minutes on the line...
as my ski didn't start immediately but unfortunately for me it wasn't seen so I was late off the line but I had a really good race and I had to really work especially to pass Jennifer on her S8 which took me many laps - good job it was a 15 minute race! I finished this moto in second place behind Julie who went on to take the win of the weekend, well done Julie and all the girls - great racing.
Many Congratulations to all the riders in all the classes for a great year. Thanks to everyone who has put in a lot of effort to put on the events.
Also a big thank you to Boss for all your help and bringing James and my ski back to Paris for us.
Finally Happy Birthday to the very best Dad in the World too - sorry you had to work!
JSRA Round 6 - The Final at Willen Lakes, Milton Keynes Sept 5 & 6th

This weekend was the final round of the British Championship and I am pleased to say I ended the season better than I started it!!
I won the Limited class on the weekend and finished runner up overall and I really enjoyed my last moto in the GP class fending off Simon Gill and finishing 2nd in the moto - just wish all season had been like that!! To top off my weekend I won rider of the weekend which was a lovely end to a disappointing season for me.
Many thanks to the JSRA team for all their hard work throughout the season, all my competitors, supporters and of course my wonderful sponsors. Cheers everyone.
Many Congratulations to Chrissy & Fizzy on the birth of Jaydon (My mum says she will wet Jaydon's head with a diet coke!).
Morocco, Aug 28th, 29th & 30th

I am delighted to say that at long last my luck changed in Morocco, its not been my year at all but at long last I had a great race and result. I always have fun racing but it sure is good to have a good result too. It was the first time I have done a night race and I really enjoyed it, its strange going to the start line at 22.00 hours though! Thanks to everyone who organised the event, Frankie for getting my ski there, Boss & Carole for all your support, for sorting my head out and making me believe in myself, Robbie for making it possible for James to race, my wonderful parents and all the great girls I race with. It was a tight course and very close racing and everything depended on the results of the last moto as everyone was so close. In the end I had two firsts and a third so I was very happy.
Click on the photos above for more photos from the podium.
Many Congratulations to Frankie and Krystal on the birth of Matt - he looks gorgeous and I can't wait for my cuddle.
JSRA Round 5, Nitrojet July 14th &15th.
Well my bad luck gremlins continue to haunt me I am afraid. I have ridden my ski everyday for the last 3 weeks whilst I have been on holiday and she has never missed a beat then as soon as I come to go on the race track I split a pipe and fill her with water!! What a year! I only had one ski at this venue too as my other boat is on its way to Morocco for my next race. Thanks Dad for sorting her again. I had two second places in my Limited class and I really enjoyed my GP class. Just one more round of the British Championship to go. I hope Seth & Grant aren't too stiff after their unfortunate spills and thanks to Paul & Nikki for their hospitality.

UIM European Championship Mirendela Portugal July 24-26th July.
This is one of my favourite venues but its also one of the roughest & toughest racing wise. This year was a little disappointing for me though as at the start of the season in Spain the UIM European Ladies class was Superstock (which I won) but then in Portugal the ladies class was changed to stock! I don't have a stock boat as I don't ride stock so thank you to everyone who loaned me parts to enable me to ride in the stock ladies class. However it is still disappointing as it now means there is no UIM Ladies Title up for grabs - there aren't many ladies racing as it is and I personally feel this is just another nail for the ladies. I finished 3rd in the ladies stock class and unfortunately my years bad luck continued and I blew a fuse in the men's superstock class. Click on the photo below of Maddi to see my slideshow of the racing action. I would like to say a huge Thank you to my Dad who has had a very busy and stressful week trying to get my ski's working - so thank you dad.
Also a huge Thank you to my friend Lou (Paint-Tec) for the very kind loan of her Superjet so that I could compete in the Superjet challenge class for a bit of fun, cheers Lou.
I had a few good battles this weekend with Marine in Ltd and congrats Marine on the overall win - Girl Power. I finished 3rd overall, after taking the win in moto 1 I had a bad moto 2 but just two ladies in the class and both on the podium again - See its Girl Power! In GP I had some good battles with Steve Garland and Jason Young so thanks for them boys they were great. Congratulations also to James Bushell on taking his first win in the Ski Class. Thanks everyone.
Belgium Championship 5th July 2009

Well this photo of my Dad working on my ski sums up my weekend to a tee!! Yes you guessed my bad luck season just got a whole lot worse but I still had a good weekend and would like to Thank James & Robby for the loan of their ski's to enable me to compete also thanks to everyone especially the GB team for all their help and laughs over the weekend. I hope my fellow rider Julie Bulteau makes a quick recovery after her incident and look forward to riding with her in Portugal - all the best Julie.
Well everyone laughed when I did a quick switch on the line from my S4 to James Stock Kawi but I really enjoyed my race and I even had time to watch the great battle between Sophie and Yuki happening in front of me on the track - great racing! Well done Marine for taking the ladies win. I finished 3rd overall after Robby kindly loaned me his S4 for the final two motos. In ski GP I had two cracking starts and holeshotted, I really enjoyed it especially after sorting the handling out more but then the bad news happened and my engine certainly doesn't look like it should anymore!! Sorry Dad.
Well done to Sophie and Seth and James for holeshotting the lites class shame he forgot his GPS though!!!
Many thanks to Peter,Bart and the team for a good organised weekends racing again and look forward to seeing you all again.
Round 3, JSRA British Championship June 20/21st

UIM World Pro Championship, Round 1 June 5th -7th, Corsica
Click on both the photo above and below to see my 2 slideshows of Corsica
After the race in Belgium we set off for the very long drive to Corsica for the first round of the UIM World Championships - we had to drive to the South of France and then take a twelve hour ferry across to Corisca. We had some fun on the way though! Corsica is a very pretty island and the weather was good to us. We arrived early which was good as my dad had to rebuild my engine after the race in Belgium. We had a fun opening parade through the streets of Corsica to the official opening and we also had a night time water parade and slalom for the ski division which I took part in and a firework display which was very well attended by the local community with both press and television coverage - the town is home to the talented Jean- Baptiste Botti so there was lots of interest. On the Saturday we had the all important pole position timed trials - this is really important in the UIM World tour as they run a rolling start so your finish position is relevant to your starting place position (like in the F1 motor racing). The catergory for the race was Superstock but I decided to run my Limited ski and I finished in second place which was ok. I would like to say how great it was to have the unreal Aleysia Ida back racing with us after her unfortunate accident in the IJSBA World finals last October - good to have you back Aleysia. In warm up practice prior to the race I wasn't happy with my ski performance so dad gave it a once over only to find I was losing compression so not a great start but I had little choice so it was fingers crossed time. I knew I couldn't win but hoped I could at least complete the race and luckily for me I did just - as I crossed the finish line pinkie cut out on me and wouldn't start again - those mechanical gremlins really like me this year! Sorry Dad looks like you have more work to do when we get home!!!I finished in second place behind Julie Beauteau - well done Julie and Aleysia was third so well done and congratulations to all the girls. Round two is in China in October.
Well done to all the riders - there was some awesome racing this weekend, and thanks to everyone at the UIM for putting on a very well organised and attended event. Thanks also to all the locals who supported me................you were great and I hope to see you all again. Finally thanks Max for the experience on the FZR

Belgium Championships, Round 1 May 31st 2008
Click on the photo to see the action in Belgium.
This weekend we headed over to Belgium for the first round of their racing under the new federation and what an excellent time we had. The event was very well organised and the most important thing was getting the riders on the line and if that meant changing the race schedule then that is what they did. We had 3 motos for each class with good line ups - 20 riders in Open ski, good fair racing and the event finished with beautiful trophies. Thank you to everyone for a great weekend - the new federation did good and we look forward to returning again soon.
My new found mechanical troubles that seem to like me this year unfortunately paid me another visit - my old limited ski (that my dad has been trying to persuade me to change but I love her!) was the culprit this weekend again - first the wiring loom went down at practice and then 2 relays failed, then the battery failed on the last lap when I was winning, I also split an exhaust pipe and then just as I crossed the finish line to take the win in moto 3 she went down again this time losing compression (sorry dad!) but on a positive note my new Super stock boat ran trouble free - I just need more time on her (and a new bunch of muscles!!).
Team GB worked well together and everyone helped everyone out as it was a busy days racing - which together included getting through a wiring loom, battery, two relays, exhaust hose, flange bearing, pump bearings, a HSR engine out and back in at lunch break, oil pipe leak, water pipe leak to turbo, two engines with valve problems and Seth riding a loan ski - so a busy day for a little group of 4 riders. Thanks everyone for all their help - including Robbie and his little hands! and the Belgium federation. I managed to win Ladies and take 3rd overall in Ski GP.
See you all again soon and thanks again everyone for great racing and making us feel very welcome.
JSRA Round 2 British Championship, Wales 23rd/24th May 2009
Click on the above photo to see my slideshow from this weekend.
This weekend we headed to the beautiful Glyn Neath Lakes in Wales for round 2 of the 2009 British championships and the British weather was very good to us.
The weekend wasn’t a good racing weekend for me though. First of all I was full of cold which affects my Asthma which obviously makes it difficult for me to race but then on top of that I had a mechanical problem that put pay to any hopes and dreams I had of doing well overall in the Championships as unfortunately I didn’t complete the hole shot lap therefore didn’t even get last place points so that’s the end for me I am afraid, I am obviously very disappointed for both myself and for my all important sponsors but I will continue to use each individual moto as race training looking at the bigger picture for the future and the years ahead.
I managed to finish second overall in my Limited class – which I enjoyed. As I said before the JSRA this year do not now allow the Autronics ECU that I am used to running or the A52 intercooler so my set up in this class is totally different to last year and as I have been devoting any spare time I have to riding my new superstock boat I am pleased I at least managed to achieve a second overall as my boat is very different to what I am used to.
Hopefully my next race will be more successful!
Thank you as always to all my sponsors, family and friends for their support - I especially needed it this weekend so a BIG Thank you.
UIM European Championship
Spain May 8 - 10 2009
This weekend saw the start of the new UIM European Championships and I had a great time.
It was soooooooooooo nice to see all my racing friends from around the world (and my French "family") that I have missed over the winter months.
I was a little disappointed that there wasn't enough ladies to run a separate ladies ski class but the upside to that is that I get to ride with the best riders in the world - and it doesn't get any better than that.
I am still learning about my new ski but I had a great weekend. I had a problem on the start line but think that is sorted now. Thank you Fabio for listening, team GB for great team work and Les for his support.
I finished 9th overall in the Super stock class and won the ladies when the points were separated out. My aim now is to improve on my 9th place although this will be a huge undertaking as the class is full of the best riders in the world.

British Championship 2009
Stockton May 2/3rd
Well it's here the start of the British Championship (wish it hadn't come around so fast though!). I have had a hectic time especially this week - but the weekend couldn't have started better for me as I passed my driving test on the Friday - yippee. So as you can imagine I have had a busy week what with learning to drive, taking and passing my test and the arrival of my brand new Super Stock ski. I would like to say a huge Thank you to everyone who has pulled out everything to help me be ready and on the line ....Les, my Mum & Dad, Pete at Paint-Tec, Garry etc....thank you all, I really do appreciate it and know you have all worked hard for me.
This year I am competing in both the GP class and the Limited class in the British Championship like last year - although there are a few changes like I now have a super stock ski whereas last year I rode the GP class with my limited and in the Limited class the JSRA rules have changed so I can no longer run my ignition or A52 intercooler.
I am still getting to know my new ski and she is very different to ride to my limited - think I need to be a lot fitter!
I didn't have the best weekend results wise but I had good fun. I finished 4th in Ltd and 7th in GP (had a DNF unfortunately) so now I just need to improve loads. I am way down on points - about 72 behind in GP so need a miracle in that class but I will do my best to try and improve my placing every round.

JSRA Winter Round 3
February 22nd 2009
This weekend was Round 3 of the JSRA British Winter Racing series held at Tattershall Country Park and I had a fun weekend - not all good news though as I broke a coupler on my ski - so sorry Dad I have just organised your free weekend for you to repair my ski (sorry)! But very kindly James Bushell loaned me his stock Kawi which I rode in the Ski Open class - slightly underpowered for my class and having not ridden a Kawi since 2005 I guessed I was in for some fun.......I had a great time and I even managed to finish 3rd in my Moto. I had a fun weekend. Thanks to everyone at the JSRA for all their hard work and to all my family and friends for their support and fun. JSRA 2009 Winter Race Season
Click on the photo of Graham and I discussing our fight to see my slideshow of Round Two.
Well as you know the JSRA run a Winter Racing season here in the UK and yes its cold but its great to get out on the water as always. I was unable to make round one as I was racing in Thailand (a little warmer!!!) but I did make round two held at Tattershall Country Park in Lincolnshire on a cold January weekend. I had a great weekend, it was lovely to see some of our European friends making the journey over too and I think everyone enjoyed watching Steven Lopez showing us how he rides his Superjet! I had a great race especially with my friend Graham on his 160 - I loved the fight it was just such good fun, thanks Graham. Thanks also to all the JSRA for all their hard work in these cold conditions. Heres to round two on Feb 22nd again at Tattershall Country Park.
Kings Cup, Thailand 2008.
This year I got the most amazing opportunity to race at the Kings Cup in Thailand. I was so excited. We started out with a holiday in Bangkok which you can read about in “Photos” then recent events if you want. You can also read about my TV interview too.
I would like to say at this point a massive Thank you to Pimonporn and everyone at the TJSBA for all their help in making this race happen for me. Thank you also to the Sea Doo Centre for the use of their centre and safe storage of my ski. Everyone was the most helpful and couldn’t do enough for us so a huge Thank you.
The racing was scheduled to start on Dec 2nd to the 7th but unfortunately due to a demonstration by the people for democracy that forced Bangkok airport to close for a week many of the riders couldn’t fly into Bangkok as planned and many had to take several different flights and taxi’s to reach the race venue therefore the organisers TJSBA very kindly put back all the racing to the 6th and 7th of December. We were one of the lucky ones as we had arrived early. The majority of the international riders made it in the end though.
The weekend before the racing started the racers of Thailand had to qualify to ride in the Pro class as only 4 riders from each country could participate so we went along to watch the qualifiers which were good but I have never been so hot in my life!
I had lots of open practice time that I made good use of as I lack practice time and race experience on the sea also thanks again to team Russia who were always there to help launch and retrieve.
By the time the racing came around I was well ready for it. I was however a little disappointed as the Ladies class was cancelled as most of the lady riders hadn’t been able to make it including Yuki. So I was competing in the Pro/Am Open Ski class on my limited boat and the TJSBA gave me the opportunity to compete in the Pro Class too. Mum and Dad weren’t too sure about this one though as they had a log jump and I have no experience neither practice nor racing of the log jump – although this is about to change as all us riders voted as this years JSRA AGM to re-introduce the log jump into British racing so that will be better for me.
The event was officially opened with an opening ceremony on Friday evening – this was a really nice event. We were shown to our table and as per seating plan we were sat with team USA and Team Germany. Drinks were served and then the trophies were marched into the event, speeches given, the riders of Thailand awarded special trophies all followed by a cabaret show and open buffet. It was a very nice opening ceremony.
Click on the photo below to view my slideshow of the ceremony. (Please be patient while slideshows load.)
Saturday morning and finally racing time was here – I was 7th race out for Pro/Am Open Ski ……..
Moto 1 Pro/Am Ski Open - I was next to Arthit Wongpinta on his T7 HSR boat on the start line. It was Arthit that I had my battles with at this years World Finals so I thought this might be a tough race. I was on the inside of him and we both got a good start. We went up to the first turn side by side, we were both sweeping the turns and then he hit the side of me we both went off the side of our skis. I managed to swing back onto my ski and take back the lead on the inside hole shot. I was determined to keep my lead now and did so throughout the race. The sea was very kind to me especially after Lake Havasu on the Sunday!!! Arthit immediately apologised to me after the race and asked if I was ok so thank you Arthit that was very nice of you.
Moto 1 Pro Ski – TJSBA offered me the opportunity to represent GB in the class. Mum and Dad weren’t too sure though as there was a log jump and I just don’t have any experience of taking this but thanks to everyone Friday night they were persuaded that I should have a go – thanks especially Kevin, Thomas and Les. The line up was a big full one of the best riders in the world including many riders that I knew like Kevin Reterier, Jean Baptiste Botti, Nicholas Rius, Chris Macclugage, Masaharu Takenoshita and Youhei Kurahashi from Japan so what an honour to be able to race with these amazing racers. I was soooo excited to be competing with the world’s absolute best. I was sandwiched between Chris and Jean on the start line so felt safe and I got a good start but then unfortunately for the second time on the trot I got hit, I wasn’t hurt and again after the race the rider apologised – we were both unhurt and that’s what matters but I would love to seen where I was able to finish without the bump. I finished in 9th place and had a great time.
Click on the photo below to go to my racing slideshow. (Please be patient while slideshows load.)
Unfortunately when dad checked my ski after the race he found a problem - potentially a big problem as my ski was blowing oil out. Together with Les Dad did a few things to try and get me through moto 2 as I only had the one ski in Thailand so if pinkie went down that was it for me.
Moto 2 Pro/Am Ski Open - I gave Pinkie a big pat and prayed she held out for me. I took the inside hole shot again but I made a mistake in my choice as this time the inside hole shot wasn’t as fast as the outside. Ooops. So Arthit on T7 got the outside holeshot and I got the inside holeshot. So Arthit was in first then me in second and then Nuttakorn Papakdee from Thailand in 3rd. It was an exciting race for me as I was trying my hardest to catch Arthit in first place whilst holding Nuttakorn off my second place – that was tough as he was very close to me and I just knew there was no room for error. I was pleased to see the chequered flag and come through in second. This meant I was 12 points in front now so knew I had to finish first or second tomorrow to take the overall win – no pressure then!
Due to the problem with my ski we decided we needed to save her for Pro/Am so sadly that was the end of Pro class for me this trip. That evening after the racing Dad torqued my head etc, washed everything out etc just to try and get me through moto 3 tomorrow. It made me nervous thinking that pinkie might go down on me especially as I didn’t want to risk damaging her further as I know that costs lots of money to fix but dad said just go out and ride her to the end!!
Moto 3 Pro/Am Ski Open - I knew I had to finish 2nd or better in this race to take the overall win. I had Boss’s little message in my head – thanks Boss. It was anyone’s race really. So I was praying for my ski to last the race. I was awake on the start line and had a good start again but about 3 quarters of the way to the holeshot my ski power went down which meant that Nuttakorin took my holeshot lead. I knew that if he won and I came third he would take the overall. Luckily the power came back and I ended up third after the hole shot with Nuttakorn in first, and Arthit on his T7 in second and me in third so at this time I knew I had lost the overall if it stayed like this so I knew I had to push hard, very hard. I was particularly pushing Arthit as I wanted to be in second place! But he wanted to keep his second place too!! On about the 4th lap on the top right hand corner just before going into the back straight Arthit made a mistake and I passed him just but I knew he would want his second place back. I knew if I could just stay in second I would win overall but I still had a long way to go as the race was only half way through. I was praying pinkie held out now too. Arthit was chasing me hard but together pinkie and I managed to hold him off and I came through the finish line in second place which meant I took the overall win. I was so happy I couldn’t believe it, I had to make sure when I got in that I had done it as I could not believe it. The races were tough with good riders and I know I really do need more experience on the ocean. I was very happy though.

A massive thank you to all the riders, my Mum and Dad, Les, all of my sponsors who make it all possible, TJSBA, Kings Cup Staff (who are a scream), the Sea Doo Centre of Thailand for taking good care of us and my Ski, Chanel 3, all of my supporters from around the World, the English supporters I met especially the Paramedic and DJ from Shropshire. Thank you to everyone. I had the most amazing time and participating in the Kings Cup again is definitely on my wish list. I really hope I am able to come back again next year.
